Use Layers in Theme Studio
Layers lists everything on the page you're designing. Use it to select, reorder, rename, copy, delete and group what's there.
The Layers tab lists everything on the pages on screen, including built-in parts like the Lesson Plan Table. The list reads from front to back: a row higher up sits in front of the rows below it.
- Click a row to select that item on the page. It's the easy way to reach something hidden behind something else.
- With something selected, press Tab to select the next row and Shift + Tab to select the one above it. A group's own row selects the whole group.
- Drag a row up or down to bring it forward or send it back. You can also click the row and press Alt + ↑ or Alt + ↓ (Option on a Mac).
- Use a row's Rename button to give it a name you'll recognize. The name is only for you.
- Use the Duplicate and Delete buttons on a row to copy or remove it.
- Use Merge with layer above or Merge with layer below to group two items so they move together. Unmerge takes one back out.
A group has its own row, which you can rename, fold away or delete. The palette in that row, drawn in the group's own color, picks its Group color, which only colors it in this list. Select a group to see its layers and Arrange, which lines up or spaces out its members.
Tip
Clicking a grouped item on the page selects the whole group. To pick one member, click its row in Layers.
Good to know
Deleting a built-in part, like the Week Date, hides it, and you can bring it back. The Lesson Plan Table and the Month Calendar can't be deleted. See Put back something you deleted in Theme Studio.
