What is Theme Studio?

Theme Studio is where you design how your planner looks: its colors, fonts, cover and the design of every page.

Theme Studio is where you design how your planner looks. It holds your planner's colors, fonts and cover, and the design of every page: the artwork, where each table sits, and the headings and labels printed on the pages.

Think of it like a slide master. The theme is the design underneath, and in your planner you write on top of it: your lesson plans, what you type into tables, your text boxes, stickers and drawings.

What you'll see

  • Your planner in the middle, with the same tabs along the top and Previous and Next underneath.
  • A panel with four tabs: Insert, Properties, Layers and Theme. On a computer it sits on the right. On a phone the tabs sit along the bottom.
  • Undo and Redo at the top left of the page, and Done at the top left of the screen.
  • A question mark at the top right of the page, which opens the same help window as your planner. See Get help without leaving your planner.

There is no Save button. Every change saves as you make it, and Done takes you back to your planner.

Good to know

Only a planner's owner can open Theme Studio. On a planner someone shared with you, its button is grayed out, and pointing at it or tapping it says Theme Studio is only available to planner owners. If your planner uses one of the ready-made themes, your first design change saves a copy of your own. See Why did a new Untitled theme appear?
