Why does a theme say Updated or (old)?

When a ready-made theme you use is updated, your planner keeps the version you picked, and the theme says Updated. Pick it again for the new version.

Now and then we update the ready-made themes under Default. When we do, your planner doesn't change: it keeps the version of the theme you picked.

The theme shows Updated on its card while your planner uses an older version of it.

  1. Open Theme Studio. It opens on the Theme tab.
  2. Under Default, select the theme marked Updated.
  3. Your planner switches to the new version, and the label goes away.

Or keep the version you have: your planner stays exactly as it is for as long as you like.

While you keep it, your version shows under Custom as the theme's name with (old) at the end, like Modern (old), with the theme marked Updated beside it. After you switch, that card stays, with the date you left it underneath. Select it to go back to the version you had, any time, or open its menu and select Delete to remove the card.

Good to know

Some planners were kept on a copy instead, saved with your themes under Custom and named after the theme with (old) at the end, like Modern (old). It works the same way: select the theme marked Updated to use the new version, or keep the copy.

Good to know

If you started from a plain design, Create Theme shows Updated instead, and a copy of it is named Untitled (old). See Start a theme from a plain design.

Good to know

What you've written in your planner stays when you switch designs, with one exception. See Switch your planner to a different theme.
