Ask other teachers in the community
The community is where teachers ask each other questions and share what works. Open it from the help window in any planner.
The community is a place for teachers to ask each other questions and share what works. Anyone can read its open forums, even without an account. To post, reply or like, sign in with your usual account. Some forums are only for members: a lock and a short note say who each one is for, and only members can open them.
Getting there
- In a planner, select the question mark at the top right, then More options, then Community.
- In the help window, after you answer No under an answer, select Ask in the community.
- Or open the community directly.
From the help window, the community opens in a new tab (in your web browser, in the desktop and phone apps), so your planner stays open. On its own page, Back to the app at the top returns you to the app.
Ask a question
- Pick a forum, then a sub-forum inside it. Every forum has one called Miscellaneous for anything that doesn't fit elsewhere.
- Select Write a post. If you're not signed in, it says Sign in to post, and brings you back here once you are.
- Give it a Title, and add any detail that would help somebody answer under Post.
- Under the box, choose how your name shows: your full name or just your first name.
- To add pictures, select Photos. You can add up to 5, each under 25 MB.
- Select Post.
Your name, and who can read it
- You choose your name for each post and reply, and the next one starts on your last choice.
- In an open forum, anyone can read what you post, even without an account. In a members-only forum, only its members can. The line under the box says which.
Reply and like
- Open a post, type in the box under it and select Post reply.
- To answer one reply in particular, select Reply under it.
- Select the heart to like a post or a reply.
You can write up to 10 posts and 60 replies an hour. Past that, the box tells you when you can post again and keeps what you wrote.
Good to know
A link another teacher posted asks before it takes you to a website we don't control. Select Continue to go, or Stay here.
Take something back
On something you wrote, select the bin icon (Delete your post or Delete your reply), then Remove. Its words and photos are removed, and the replies to it stay.
