I signed up with Google. Can I use a password too?

Yes. Add a password in Account Settings and you can sign in either way. Don't use Forgot password for this.

Yes. Your account can have Google or Apple sign-in and a password at the same time, and both open the same account.

  1. Select your picture (or your initials) in the top right corner to open your Profile, then select Account Settings.
  2. Select Add Password.
  3. Type a password (at least 8 characters) in Password and again in Confirm password, then select Add password.
  4. If a Google or Apple window opens, sign in there. It's checking that it's really you.

When you see Password Added, you can sign in with your email and this password, and signing in with Google or Apple keeps working too.

Before you do this

Don't use Forgot password? to set a password on an account that signs in only with Google. A reset replaces Google sign-in with the password, so Continue with Google stops working for that account.

Good to know

If you see Your browser blocked the confirmation window. Allow pop-ups for this site, then try again., allow pop-ups and select Add password again. Closed the window by mistake? Just try again.

Good to know

In the Android app, an account that signs in only with Apple can't add a password: the app can't check with Apple that it's you. Add it in the web app instead, in your phone's browser or on a computer.

Good to know

If you made your account with an email and password but never confirmed the email, signing in with Google for that address can remove the password. Add it back the same way.
