Why is my text getting smaller as I type?
Once you resize a text box, its size is fixed, so the text shrinks to fit as you add more. Make the box bigger to fix it.
A new text box grows to fit whatever you type. Once you drag its top or bottom edge, or a corner, the box keeps the size you gave it. From then on, if you type more than fits, the text gets smaller so it stays inside the box. Delete some words and it grows back, up to the size you picked.
- Select Edit, then click the text box once to select it.
- Drag its bottom edge or a corner to make it bigger. Dragging a corner makes the text bigger along with the box.
Dragging only the left or right side changes how wide the box is: the words wrap onto more lines, and the box still grows taller as you type.
Good to know
There isn't a button to make a resized box grow with its text again. If you'd rather start over, add a new text box and paste your words into it.
