Make a share link expire
Set a share link to stop working after 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or at a date and time you choose. Links never expire unless you set one.
- In the Filing Cabinet, select ⋮ on the shared file or folder, then Share.
- Under Expiration, pick 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. For a particular day and time, select Custom, choose the date and time, then select Set.
- The line under the buttons shows when the link expires.
New links start on Never, and the line says This link never expires. Select Never again at any time to remove an expiry. A custom time has to be in the future.
The time counts from when you pick it: 1 week means one week from now. After that, anyone opening the link sees This link has expired and is asked to get a fresh link from you.
Good to know
To make an expired link work again, open Share and pick a new expiry or Never. It's the same link, so people can use the one they already have.
