Why do I have to sign in every time?
If Keep me signed in on this device was unticked when you signed in, closing the browser or the desktop app signs you out.
The sign-in page has a box called Keep me signed in on this device. It's ticked unless you untick it, and it counts for the Google and Apple buttons too.
- Ticked: you stay signed in on that browser, or in the desktop app, until you sign out.
- Unticked: you're signed out when you close the browser tab or window, or quit the desktop app.
If you keep being signed out, sign in once more with the box ticked. Private or incognito windows, and clearing your browser's saved data, also sign you out.
Tip
On a computer other people use, untick the box when you sign in and select Sign out when you're done. See Sign out.
