Desktop app or browser: which should I use?
Both open the same account and planners. The browser needs no install; the desktop app has its own window and works without internet.
Both give you the same account, planners and files, and you can switch between them any time. Pick whichever suits the way you work.
In a web browser
- Nothing to install, and it works on any computer, tablet or phone.
- Always up to date: after we update the app, an open tab offers Reload now.
The desktop app
- Its own window and icon on your Windows PC or Mac.
- Opens and keeps working without internet, then syncs when you reconnect.
- Updates itself, and a restart installs each update. A fix reaches the browser first and the desktop app with its next update.
- Printing, PDF downloads, signing in with Google, and Stripe's pages (buying, updating your card, paying ahead, cancelling) open your web browser to finish. A payment or change you make there shows in the app by itself.
Tip
If you often plan somewhere with no internet or a patchy connection, the desktop app is the better fit. See Download the desktop app.
