Report a problem with F8

Press F8 on any screen to send us a screenshot, your last few steps and a note in your own words.

The quickest way to tell us about a problem is to press F8 on the screen where it happens, while you're signed in. It works everywhere in the app, including inside a planner.

  1. Press F8. The Report a bug window opens with a screenshot of the screen as it was.
  2. In the box, say what went wrong and what you expected to happen (up to 2,000 characters).
  3. Select Send report. A message confirms it was sent.

With your words, the report sends the screenshot, the page you were on, your last few steps (clicks and key presses) and which version of the app you're using. In those steps, letters you typed show only as dots, never as your words. In the desktop app, it also says where the app keeps its update log, in case we ask for it.

Tip

If F8 does nothing, your keyboard may use its top row for volume and brightness. Hold Fn and press F8.

Good to know

The screenshot shows exactly what was on your screen. If it includes something you'd rather not send, select Cancel and nothing is sent.

On a phone or tablet

F8 needs a keyboard. In a planner, tap the question mark at the top right, then More options, then Report a bug: the same window opens, with a screenshot of your planner. Anywhere else, the question mark at the top, left of the bell, does the same.

An idea rather than a problem

Select Send feedback, beside Report a bug on the help window's first screen. The same window opens and asks what's on your mind. It sends the same things, with your words.

After you have used the app for a while, a small card, We value your feedback, may ask what you think. It hangs under the help button at the top of the screen, in your planner and on the app's other screens, each at most once a week. Select the help button to open the help window, where Report a bug and Send feedback are, and the card closes. If you select Dismiss twice, or once you send a report or feedback, it does not come back.
