Set up A/B days or a rotating day cycle
A Rotating Day Planner marks each school day with a rotating letter or number, starting on your first day of school.
Pick the Rotating Day Planner during setup, or switch to it later (see Choose a weekly layout). Each school day then shows its letter or number beside its name, such as MONDAY (A).
Set up the cycle
- Mark each day with: Letters (A, B, C...) or Numbers (1, 2, 3...).
- Days in the cycle: from 2 to 8. A and B days is 2.
Setup asks both on the Layout step, under Your cycle, once you pick the Rotating Day Planner. Its last step, School calendar, asks for your First day of school and Last day of school; both are optional. To change the cycle later, the planner's owner can open Theme Studio beside Edit, select the weekly grid, open Properties, and look under Cycle in Structure.
How the letters count
- The cycle starts on your first day of school. Until you set one, it starts on the first day of your planner. Set it under Manage days in Settings.
- Days before your first day of school, and after your last, have no letter.
- Only the days on your planner's week count. A day off pauses the cycle, so the next school day keeps the letter.
- Letters carry across weeks: if Friday is an A day, the next Monday is a B day.

For one day your school runs out of order, see Change the letter or number on one day.
