Move, resize and layer things on a page

Select a text box, picture, sticker, drawing or attachment to drag it, resize it, turn it, or bring it in front of other things.

In edit mode, click or tap anything you've placed on a page to select it. A frame with handles appears around it.

  • Move: drag it.
  • Resize: drag a corner handle. Pictures and stickers keep their shape. On a text box, a corner makes the text bigger or smaller with the box, and a side handle changes only the width or height.
  • Turn: drag the round handle above the frame. Hold Shift to turn in steps of 15 degrees.
  • Several at once: hold Shift and drag across an empty part of the page to select everything in the rectangle, or hold Shift or Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) and click items one by one. Ctrl + A selects everything you've placed on the pages you're looking at.

Put one thing in front of another

Open Layers (in the toolbar on a computer, or in the bar at the bottom of a phone when nothing is selected). It lists what you've placed on the pages you're looking at, with the frontmost at the top. Drag a row up to bring it forward or down to send it back. Select a row to select that item, or use its trash can to delete it.

Tip

On a computer, with something selected, press Tab to select the next item in Layers and Shift + Tab to select the one above it, even with Layers closed. This doesn't happen while you're typing in a box.

Good to know

The page's own design, like its headings, tables and artwork, isn't in Layers and can't be moved in the planner. Text boxes that sit inside a cell or a notes area can't be turned.
