Move, copy and rename files
Use the menu on any file or folder to rename, move or copy it. On a computer you can also drag it onto a folder.
Every file and folder in the Filing Cabinet has a ⋮ button with these options.
Rename
- Select ⋮, then Rename.
- Type the new name and select Rename.
Move
- Select ⋮, then Move to...
- Choose My Files or a folder, then select Move Here.
On a computer, you can also drag a file or folder onto another folder, or onto a folder's name in the path at the top of the page. A folder can't go inside one of its own folders, so those aren't offered.
Copy
- Select ⋮, then Copy to...
- Choose where the copy should go, then select Copy Here.
The copy gets (copy) at the end of its name, for example Worksheet (copy). Copying a folder copies everything inside it. If you copy into a different folder, a message tells you where it went.
Good to know
A copy uses storage just like the original. If it doesn't fit, nothing is copied and you'll see Storage Full.
