My upload stopped or failed
What each upload message means, from Retrying to Storage Full, and how to get your files into your Filing Cabinet.
Find the message you're seeing:
- Retrying next to a file means nothing has moved for 30 seconds, usually because the connection dropped. The file keeps its place and carries on when your internet is back.
- Failed next to a file, with a message such as A file couldn't be uploaded, means it didn't make it. The message ends with the reason. Upload stopped responding means the file made no progress for five minutes. Couldn't reach the server to start this upload means the app couldn't connect. The rest of the batch carries on. Upload the failed file again once your connection is back.
- Storage Full means the file doesn't fit in your storage. See My storage is full.
- A file could not be found on this device, so it was not uploaded means the file was moved or deleted on your computer before it finished. Find it and upload it again.
- 28 files didn't finish uploading (or another number) means the app or tab was closed before they finished. Upload them again.
Tip
If the Filing Cabinet says it's full but you're sure you have room, try the upload again. Space held by uploads that never finished is given back as soon as you retry.
