I deleted files, but my storage didn't go down
Deleted files wait in Recently Deleted for 30 days and still count until then. Delete them for good to get the space back now.
When you delete a file, it moves to Recently Deleted in your Profile, so you can get it back if you change your mind. While it's there, it still takes up storage.
- Open your Profile and select Recently Deleted.
- To remove one item, select its ⋮, then Delete Forever, and confirm with Delete Forever. To remove everything, select Empty Trash and confirm the same way.
- Your storage goes down straight away.
If you leave them there, items in Recently Deleted are deleted for good after 30 days, and the space comes back then.
Before you do this
Deleting for good can't be undone.
Tip
In the Filing Cabinet, select the amount used at the top of the page for a quick reminder of how this works.
